I can tell you that Fattoria Viticcio makes some really good wines. We attended a Wine Pairing dinner featuring Viticcio and we got to meet Beatrice, lovely person, I'm sure she runs a very nice agriturismo.
Maybe next year...
We just stayed at a small agriturismo just out of San Casciano and found it to make a really good base for Florence, Lucca, Chianti, Volterra, San gimignano etc. Full for the summer, but consider the area. San Casciano has a couple of good restaurants.

Caralin - Sorry to hijack the thread, but do you have agriturismo suggestions for Montepulciano from your last trip? We are currently booked for a small one in Monticchiello. We wanted to see if there's one nearby Montepulciano that you suggest.
Also, we only have 2 full days and 2 half days. Aside from Montepulciano, what other towns do you recommend we see in that time?
Hope you love your trip!

>>>My main question now is just whether San Gimignano is the best town in the area to stay near.>>We wanted to see if there's one nearby Montepulciano>>Also, we only have 2 full days and 2 half days
