agriturismos in Greve-in-Chianti

Hey folks, WE're deciding between two agriturismo's and wondering if anyone's stayed in either one and there comments.

Frattoria Viticcio, Greve-in-Chianti, or Vignamaggio also in Greve-in-Chianti??

Thanks in advance

Traviata,

We're going in July....it looks great and I'm sure we can't go wrong with either one, but I'm still sweating the details! We're going with our two boys (13 and 11) and both spots looked as though it's fairly accessible for day trips to other places...Did you see a recommendation on this forum? I'll be sure to post when we return!!

Thanks Traviata -- I didn't include the Villa in front of the Vignamaggio...not that it matters, but the correct spelling is "Fattoria Viticcio" in Greve-in Chianti....thanks again

My Husband and I stayed a vignamaggio for 4 nights in may 2004. It was heavenly, magical, special, perfect. We did day trips 3 of the 4 days with no problem. We did have a car.

We ate in the town of Greve at Nerbone twice and loved it. Great risotto.

Also, going past the Villa and up the hill, there is a town called Lamole with a wonderful restaurant that i can recommend highly. Before you get to that, there is a teeny hamlet with a restaurant Aia D'Chianti or something like that where we had a great meal.

I will try to send you my picture link but Vignamaggio will not disappoint.

Oh, so glad you saw them. Still working on some of the titles and order but wanted to get them to you.

Also - if you cant wait till October, rent "Much Ado About Nothing" by Kenneth Branaugh. It was all filmed at Vignamaggio and you get to see quite a bit. Or... wait and let it be a great surprise.

I hope you love it as much as we did.

Hi chicagolori
I'd love to read a trip report or contact you regarding your trip. It's just what we are planning for next April.
BTW Much Ado About Nothing is my absolute favourite movie and we plan to stay at the villa !
Thanks for the great pics
