Agriturismo suggestions in Tuscany

We have found so many wonderful Agriturismo's in Tuscany, it's rather hard to decide on one. So far, we have found Le Torri in Monterspertoli and Romitorio di Serelle near Castellina in Chianti, both seem perfect, BUT I thought it wouldn't hurt to see what else may be recommended. We will stay at the Agriturismo as our base for about a week and will take a day trip to Florence and a day to Venice, likely by train, I was hoping to find some recommendations centered around these preferences:

-Maybe it goes without saying, but we'd love an old place with a lot of charm/history and hospitality.
-good location that is somewhat near a train station since we will make a day trip to Florence and don't want to take the rental car.
-Nearby a town with at least a few restaurants/shops
-Pool
-We'd prefer a room/apartment with a balcony or patio to see the views
-if possible a King size bed because my husband is so tall
-a place that offers coffee/breakfast and better yet, an option for dinner at night
-an onsite winery would be a bonus, not a deal breaker

Sorry to give so many details, just trying to be as specific as possible.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

We love Le Selvole in Radda but it probably will not work for you as it is in the Siena provence so buses to Florence are seldom and train travel in Tuscany is practically non existant. Siena north, but the bus is faster or Montevarchi up but that area isn't very pretty. Castellina is also in the Siena provence so bus service to Florence will be a problem.

Le Torri in Monterspertoli is a perfect location with easy bus service to Florence almost every hour and it takes about 45 minutes or so. You can have your day in Florence or you can bus into Florence to catch the train to Venice. Venice is a 2 hour train trip each way. The first train appears to leave at 8:30 and the last train south seems to be 4:30. So if you are okay with 6 hours in Venice then go for it.

Greve restaurants are pretty good, but there are three spectacular restaurants in the area. To the north is Lamole and up and over the hill to the west are Cantinetta Rignana and Antico Scuderia.

The Greve Saturday market is one of our favorite in the area.

I guess I didn't mention that we will have a car, so it's not a problem to drive to the bus station, park the car there, then take a bus to Florence. Was just primarily looking for a great Agriturismo, with some nearby options for restuarants/shopping. Thanks for the info - I will check out Le Selvole.

Look into Villa Pecille. http://www.tenutedipecille.com/Tenut...=Villa_Pecille

Beautiful place just outside of Panzano. I think that it meets all of your needs.

Please check out http://www.cretaiole.it/ Our experience there matched the many reviews we've read from other's experience in Pienza with Isa's family. The Moricciani family is as their web site will depict. Their warmth defies description and Isa immediately makes you feel as if you've been welcomed by a cherished sister. You'll enjoy the three generations of the Moricciani's and there's no doubt the other guest you'll meet will add to the enjoyment of your stay. Isa's communication and charm is unmatched and the location of Pienza and the Val d' Orcia is where you want to be! You can enjoy Pienza, Montepulciano, and San Quirco in the evenings if you wish. Good luck with your choice.

Villa Vignamaggio has been enjoyable both times we have stayed there...it's a quick drive to Greve from there..and we are Greve fans as well

Someone on this forum a couple yrs ago recommended Agriturismo Savernano. Can't speak (yet) from personal experience, but we're staying there. Fodorite had nothing but great things to say, and the owner has been terrific in emails answering all sorts of questions!

It fulfills many, but not all, of your preferences. There are definitely dinners (aqccompanied by the farm's wine) and breakfasts.

Just posted this in another thread, but it works
I'd highly recommend this place, http://www.mulinodiquercegrossa.it/
We stayed Sept 2010 and loved it. Our room had a patio we would use to enjoy wine by the bottle and watch the world pass by us. It's located 8 km from Siena, 35 km from Florence, and 30 km from Greve in Chianti.
Breakfast is included. It has a restaurant and bar which serve excellent food. Also it has 7 pools and walking trails. We stayed 4 days there and did day trips to San Gimignano, Montalcino, and Montepulciano.
There is a restaurant in nearby (30km) Lamole, where we enjoyed a fantastic meal with one of the best views I have seen from a dining table. http://www.ristorodilamole.it/en/res...e-chianti.html
If you are fortunate, your GPS will take you there via a dirt/gravel road that passes a farm where the pigs roam the road. We loved it! We visited many wineries while there also.
And if you ever get a chance, Greve has a Wine festival in early Sept. and a weekly farmers/flea market on Saturdays
