agriturismo in Castellina Chianti
any suggestions on farm stays in the Castellina Chianti area. Have been looking on VRBO and it is very overwhelming for there are so many. Would like to be in the Castellina area to be able to take day trips to Siena,Volterra etc thank you

We almost always stay in Greve,so I'm not familiar with Castellina rooms. It's a great town though, with a couple great restaurants.

We stayed in Collelungo but it has been several years. They have different sizes of apartments.
It will give you a place to start but as I say it has been several years and I think there are different owners. We traveled all over the area. You need a car. Castellina is a great town also. |
Check out Fattoria Tregole south of town---nice people.

In 2001, my wife and I stayed in Melograno at Il Palagio near Panzano. We liked it and the country near Panzano a lot - our favorite area in Tuscany. We stopped in for a visit when we were visiting Tuscany in 2012 and it still looked great. Try to get Tottolo if you can - it was already booked for the week we were going to be there but one afternoon the guests staying there invited is in for a glass of wine - it's gorgeous.

We stayed here in Sept 2014 and had a good time (ask for a renovated room).
