Agriturismo, apartments or villa in Tuscany with activities, active group.
We are are a group of 7, two adults and five young adults (19-22). We are looking for accommodations, at the end of May, that offer different activities (horseback riding, cooking classes, hiking, mountain biking etc...).We are hoping to pay around 300E-350E per night and we will be there less than a week, probably 4 nights. Our group can be divided into smaller groups. We can get cars if necessary. I know Tuscany is so much better if you drive but we will need 2 cars. After Tuscany we will be going to Lake Como.

Option 2
Santa Margherita, but I can't seem to stay within budget. Cooking classes would be great there.

Look at the Hotel Nuova Riviera in Santa Margarita Ligure. We have stayed there-it is a converted villa with lovely rooms-breakfast included (continental). SML is a nice town and there is lots to do there and nearby.

I will look up Nuova Riviera now and I am trying to work something out with Cretaiole (to stay less than a week) at this very moment. I am considering paying for a week and just staying 4 or 5 nights. They include so many activities it might be worth it. Thanks!

If we stayed there 4 days we could go to SM for 3. We just have to be in Milan for a 5pm flight.

panucci - what sort of prices are there at Cretaiole? They don't list them on the website. Thanks.

If Cretetaiole doesn't work out, you can search for agriturismi with horseback riding, sports, etc, with the search filters of this website.

If you find something you like, you should check out the reviews on Tripadvisor.

You might do best to stay around area of San Gimignano for bicycling plus horseback riding. You can also check Tripadvisor for agriturismo around San Gimignano, Look for the category "specialty lodging."

Instead of staying in Santa Margherita Ligure, consider staying in Rapallo, which usually has a lot more to offer in terms of large rooms and better hotel prices -- plus it has better train, bus, boat options, plus even a cable car. You can take a boat or a bus to go hiking in through the Portofino park. A nice hike goes by boat to Portofino in the morning, then hike through the hills to the abbey of San Fruttuoso, have a swim and lunch, take the boat to Camogli, take the train back to Rapallo (or Santa Margherita Ligure) if you are staying there,

I think Antica Cucina Genovese offers a cooking class in making pasta and pesto, etc.

PS: Hotel Miramare in Santa Margherita Ligure has offered cooking classes in the past. I don't know if you need to be a guest at the hotel to take them, or if they are one day classes.

Final PS: This agriturismo in Tuscany advertises horseback riding and mountain biking, and cooking classes at its restaurant. They take stays of less than a week. Check reviews on Tripadvisor.
