Agritourismo in Sicily - Any firsthand experiences?

Would like some feedback of stays in agritourismos in Sicily. I'm still debating whether go to Sicily in 2 weeks because it sounds rather hot, and perphaps humid. Thanks for any replies.

2 weeks in sicily is too much time!!! why not 1 week in sicily and another week in some other region of italy ? ( Lombardia is great! try villa julia! ) make sure that you have a good map or detailed description of how to reach your farm, because most of td italians are not a good english speakers. have fun!!!

I strongly disagree that two weeks in Sicily is too long. We have had good luck with Karen Brown Guide's recommendations -- the Country Bed and Breakfast is all agriturismi. Spend some time in Palermo, driving to Erice, Trapani, Segesta. Head east to Cefalu. Drop south through the magnificent Madonie Mountains -- if it's spring the wildflowers will astound you. Stay at Tenuta Gangivecchio, hosted by Giovanna and Wanda Tornabene, who have written two outstanding cookbooks of family recipes, one of which won the James Beard award. To eat at their table is bliss. Spend some leisure time in Taormina, enjoying the street life and the beach accessible by cable car that whisks you down the mountain. Fall under the spell of Siracusa and Ortygia, staying just out of town at the charming Limoneto. Hosts Alceste and Adelina Norcia serve delicious meals to their guests at one long table on their beautiful terrace and you may pick lemons from their groves of trees. The dogs will greet you and accompany you to your room as you come and go. Drive to Noto and sample some of the fascinating architecture and some of Corrado Costanza's famous gelato. Spend a day or two in Agrigento wandering the ruins -- you can lounge by the gorgeous pool in the lush gardens of Villa Athena (ask for a room overlooking the temple -- it's lit up at night. Sicily is diverse and captivating. It's less expensive than mainland Italy and the food is spectacular. Did I mention the beautiful islands that can be reached by ferry?? In two weeks, you will only scratch the surface of this exotic land. Buon viaggio.

Two weeks is not too long!!! There is so much to see, so many places to visit. We were there for two weeks and planning another trip. Jenny tell us when are you going. Sicily is not always hot and humid. We did not have any problem communicating but do not expect everyone to speak English. After all you are going to be in Sicily. We loved it but did not stay in agritourismos. We are thinking about using them next time.

I stayed one night in an agriturismo place on the outskirts of San Salvatore di Fitalia (province of Messina) in the Nebrodi Mts. area. It is defeinitely not hot and humid there. In May it was quite cool. What would you like to know. Two weeks is definitely NOT too much time for Sicily.

I spent 18 days in Sicily last year and need to go back to see everything that I missed!
