Aggiemom says "thanks y'all (and needs a hug) before she leaves!
The good and the bad:
The Good:
Just four hours and we're on our way to the airport. I want to thank all of you for your help. It has been invaluable in planning this trip. These last few days have been stressful and I thank you for your suppport.
The bad:
To sum it up: My back still hurts (though better with meds); Mom's hearing aid is still broken so I guess I'll just have to yell; the heavy luggage issues still remain but we will try to go with the flow; and just to keep things from being boring my 16-year-old daughter's nose may be broken (in softball practice - Lady Indians are #2 in the nation in high school softball!) And my 15-year-old softball player took a ball in her face. Luckily, no dental damage (but you can see the seam marks from the errant softball still on her mouth!).
So I think it's time to get out of here before something else happens! Luckily, I have a very very capable husband. The girls are in good hands.
LoveItaly, your kind remarks at 200 AM ET were greatly appreciated and actually helped a little.
Auf Wiedersehen and thanks again!

I know this isn't really funny, but I couldn't help but laugh at the image of yelling because your mom's hearing aid is broken. Americans have the reputation for being loud, so nobody will hold it against you.
Although you are an aggiemom, this Longhorn fan still wishes you a happy and safe trip. And here's the hug you asked for. ><

Too funny AisleSeat, that same thing was going through my mind! - it's always best to find humor in things. And P_M - yeah I can definitely find humor in my Mom's broken hearing aid! I can see the stories forming right now...... Thanks for the hug. TAggie, thanks and I'll send a special "Howdy" to Europe from you. Ira - thanks for the thoughts and hug and all your good advice. Thank you Mr Fly - I've thoroughly enjoyed your knowledge and posts. SuzieC - Luckily, the girls are pretty tough, so I'm confident they'll do fine, broken nose or not. Wren, you are so right!
You know what - you guys have got me smiling again!! I can feel the stress leaving my body......

Hey aggiemom -
I will look forward to reading your trip report when you get back as my next holiday travel will be to Germany, one of these days.
Have a great journey and safe travels....and hugs all around. Peace.

I'm signing off for about 9 days. THANK YOU all - you're a better tonic than a glass of wine! (But just to make sure, I'll have two, wait.... no maybe three - I want to be certain. Oh, and, then there's the beer. I mean its Amsterdam and Germany - so many choices....hmmm I have a lot of comparing to do when I get there. But wait, I have a three hour layover in England - I better compare that lovely gin, or some good scotch because, I mean, Scotland is sooo close to England and I wouldn't want to offend... Oh, yeah, and what about Ireland? How can I go to England and not sample Irish whiskey?? Well, I better be going, got lots of comparing to do....!!
