After visiting Dublin & Donegal, thinking about moving to Ireland. Any thoughts or advice???

My husband and I visited Ireland in 06. WE loved it. He is an Irish citizen. We were thinking about moving there. One of our hesitations is our dog. WE have heard of that terrible 6 month quarantine due upon my arrival. Is that still the case?

Yes, the 6 month quarantine is still in place: http://www.movetoireland.com/movepag/petover.htm

Glad you asked...this has been something I've wanted to know too just have not spent the time researching it.
I knew about the 6 month quaranteen
but not the other options...
Thanks,
Shadow

Quarantine is no longer necessary from countries such as America but arranging the whole operation is still a pain in the neck.

Sandylan, According to the website you posted quarantine is still in place for pets going directly from the USA to the Republic of Ireland. There is a potential "back door" of going through the UK and then to the Republic of Ireland. It sounds like a lot of paperwork and advance preparation.
