After-theater light dinner in London

My husband and I have booked two 7:30 PM shows while we are in London. We prefer not to have a full dinner pre-show ( too early). We would appreciate recommendations for spots to have cocktails and post-show light meals.

Thank you in advance!

There are hundreds of places open post-theatre -- to give useful recs, we'd need to know which theatre(s)/part(s) of town.

Theaters are Picadilly Theater on Denman Street and New London Theater on Drury Lane. We like all types of food, but coming from 12 days in Italy, we may want to steer clear of Italian food.

Thanks for any recommendations

Any recommendations?

The Piccadilly Theatre is right off Piccadilly Circus

The Wolseley might be a good choice http://www.thewolseley.com/

As for the New London (You'll love War Horse BTW) - you can go just anywhere in Covent Garden - everyplace will be open and you could wait til the night and see what appeals. Or - depending on where you are staying, you could take the tube back "home" to get away from the theatre crowds and eat near your hotel.

What sort of budget?

Budget is not limiting, but we don't need to go overboard. Looking for an interesting/trendy place that perhaps has " small plates" that we can order a few and share. Are you familiar with PingPong dim sum restaurants--found them on the web and menu looks interesting.

Right on the next street from where War Horse is playing is our favorite London restaurant/gastropub: Great Queen Street.
I don't know their hours, but try to get there, either before or after the theater.

We like Cote on Tavistock St . It is a short distance from drury Lane . And I agree you will be thrilled at War Horse!
