Affordable place to stay overnight close to Heathrow?

Anyone have a recommendation on where to stay overnight before we leave from Heathrow in the morning? We will be arriving Stanstead from Prestwick on Easter Sunday night and then leaving Heathrow on Monday morning.

Thanks!!

Maureen, found a rate of GBP 70 with breakfast and tax at the Holiday Inn Heathrow, the Crowne Plaza was 115 including breakfast and the Hilton was GBP 95 with some restrictions. These were found thru a search of www.google.com. Just put in Heathrow Hotels and see what you can find!

I've heard during the last couple of days people who have bid around US$50 on Priceline.com for a room at a Heathrow Hotel (including Hilton near Terminal 4 and Renaissance) and were accepted. So worth a try I'd say.

Maureen

You should be able to get a good deal. Try www.holidayextras.co.uk - I just had a quick look and they had the Crowne Plaza for £63 room only or the Holiday Inn for £49. You could also try www.lastminute.com or www.wotif.com

Good luck.
Has anyone stayed at any of the Holiday Inns around Heathrow? I have a free night for either Crown Plaza or Holiday Inn that I will be using for an overnight stay prior to boarding at 9 am. Any clean quiet comfortable room will do but I might as well stay at the best one.

Crowne Plaza - have stayed there twice before flights. Nice pool and spa. Pleasant restaurant. Heathrow Hoppa bus from the door to the terminal for a small fee. No experience of the Holiday Inn at Heathrow.

The Hilton at Heathrow Terminal 4 was just fine when we stayed there last week. It is connected to the terminal by a looooooooong enclosed walkway. We got a room with breakfast for £98.

If you'd prefer a B&B try the Beehive Manor (it's on Karen Brown's website and they have their own as well). It's about 15 minutes from Heathrow. Lovely large old home, big rooms, great breakfast, and a very good pub in town.

My husband and I have stayed at the IBIS at Heathrow, and its around $100 a night. It's along the lines of a holiday inn and its very convenient to the airport. There is also a Hoppa bus that runs every 20 minutes to the airport for L2.50 or a cab wouldn't be more than 7-8 bucks.
