Aeroflot Plane held at JFK

Apparently Aeroflot #316 (New York to Moscow) is being held on the runway at JFK this evening. It's not clear what is going on at the moment, but apparently there are some security concerns about the flight. Flight should have left at 7:30, still on the runway as of 10:10 PM.

Flight cleared for takeoff!

News reports say that one passenger called his brother to report a suspicious passenger on board, which caused an investigation.

Departed at 10:57.

Wow. That's vigilance. Suppose brother called authorities after getting the call from the passenger? would like to hear more about all of this. Hate to think any/every flight I take could be delayed by just any nervous nellie seeing a "suspicious" passenger.

Have you ever taken an Aeroflot flight? From what I've heard most of the passengers could look suspicious. In fact with the Aeroflot reputation, I'd probably be suspicious of anyone flying it.

After the terrorist incident bringing down two Russian planes last week or so, who can blame someone for looking out for suspicious passengers?

www.NYDailyNews.com had a brief piece on it today.

I first heard about it privately and then saw two brief stories on the local Fox channel.
