Aer Lingus A330

Does anyone know where I can find out about the legroom on an Aer Lingus A330 and where the best seats are on that plane?

Check the Aer Lingus website - they have all that information. Enjoy y our trip.

Actually I'm wrong. I just checked the website and they don't give that specific information. I flew on Aer Lingus Boston to Dublin in June and was in seat 13 on the aisle going both ways and found them to be reasonably comfortable.

They do have that on their site, but it's not very easy to find. And the full address won't work if I cut and paste, so I'll try to do a play by play.

Go to http://www.flyaerlingus.com/

In the yellow header at the top, click on "About Us". Then, after that, look for "Fleet" on the left hand side and click there. Finally, scroll down and find the "Transatlantic A330 Seat Maps" link. From there, you pick the section you want to sit in.

Aer Lingus leg room is average to maybe even a little on the tight side, compared to some other airlines. 31" seat pitch. Pretty average all around really. I've sat in them, but my eyes aren't that good. :) My knees know how tight seats are, but when I want to actually compare the distance between seats, I check here:

Sorry - 32" pitch.

My boyfriend who is 6'4" also was concerned about leg room on our flight to Ireland from LAX. We arrived very early for checkin and asked if there were any seats with better leg room. Luckily, they wait to fill the Emergency Exit row, and we were seated there, with PLENTY of leg room. We were right next to the bathroom (which wasn't so great), but we loved the extra room we had. We weren't so lucky coming home, but he managed.

Try "seatguru.com".
Very helpful.

seatguru.com is one of the coolest I have seen on the web recently, but unforutunatly they don't have air lingus listed, they do have Cathaway pacific, northwest,us air,air canada and SAS a330's listed, looks like the seat configuration is 2 4 2 for all.

so it can give you a basic idea of the layout, but no gaurantees they be be exact

Spygirl Sep 2nd, 2004 06:55 PM

right, dgruzew-I was going to say if debbie wants to get a general idea of the A330 configuration, she can go onto seatguru and check out those a/c listed on the site-but each air carrier configures its aircraft cabin seating arrangements differently, so AerLingus A330 seating could be quite different than what you see on the seatguru website. I suspect there would be far more seats on the AerLingus A330, than, for example, Cathay Pacific.

Aer Lingus is 2-4-2 as well.

Spygirl Sep 2nd, 2004 08:03 PM

yes, but I meant total seats per aircraft, reducing the pitch between seat rows.

dgruzew Sep 2nd, 2004 08:16 PM

Ya, your right spygirl - but I bet the SAS version is pretty close to air lingus.

Clifton Sep 2nd, 2004 08:36 PM

Sorry Spygirl, wasn't refuting SeatGuru. I like the site - we were just posting at the same time. Just confirming dgruzew's speculation for layout.

Still, there actually IS a seat map for this plane on the Aer
Lingus site, so no need to speculate in this case.

Try www.seatguru.com. It shows the complete seating on a plane, showing the best and worst seats.
