Advise on Connecting Times
My family and I are flying from Miami to Barcelona via Madrid on Iberia. We have to change planes in Madrid. How much time should I allow for a connecting time in Madrid? I assume I'll have to clear immigration/customs in Madrid, and I want to allow sufficient time. Also, any thoughts on Iberia? We've never flown themn before. Thanks!!

You'll probably get good info right here - if you re-post w/ a better title. "Advise on Connecting Times" could be asking about anywhere in Europe.
Try something like "How long to allow for connection through Madrid"

We JC, there is some good news and bad news. The new Iberia terminal is opening at the end of this month, 31 Jan. So depending on which airline you're flying with, Iberia or Air Nostrum (owned by Iberia) you'll either leave from Terminal 3, or the new Terminal 4/4A. International flights are still scheduled to arrive and depart form Terminal 1. Clearing customs shouldn’t take too long, but it all depends on when you arrive and how many other flights are arriving at the same time.
There is a new train running between Terminal 4 and the main terminal, but they have yet to let us know where to pick it up. My best advice is to check with your travel agent, or Iberia.
Flying Iberia is fine, but flying in Iberia's business class is a whole lot better.

Hi
How many daily flights does Iberia have from Madrid to Barcelona? If it's just the one I would allow 3 hours for connecting time. Some might argue there's no way you need this much. I would rather have a relatively small wait rather than have your plane delayed in Miami, for eg., and then having to stay overnight in Madrid (not that there's anything wrong with that great city) because you missed your connecting flight.
Just my 10 cents worth,
