Advice regarding two days stay in the south of France

Hi,

We are currently staying near Grasse. Next week we are going to stay 10 kms outside of Arles for a two week house exchange. The problem is, we have a two night gap between our current accommodation and our house exchange, and are looking for suggestions of a good town to stay between these two areas. We have already visited Nice, Antibes, and Villefranche sur mer and are looking for something a bit quiet, but with things to do -it does not have to be on the coast. Thanks!

If traveling by car, you could stay in Carpentras and visit the area around there: Roussillon, Gordes, Fontaine de Vaucluse, Vaison la Romaine.

Mas des Carrasins (St. REmy). You can visit to Luberon towns in the day and have a great place to relax by the pool in the early evening before a delicious dinner.

I've also stayed at Mas des Carrasins in St. Remy. Excellent suggestion. From there you can visit Avignon and Les Baux de provence, which is on the way to Arles. IF you're there on a Wednesday, the outdoor market is not to be missed. We loaded up on fresh foods and brought it back to the hotel for lunch. They provided us plates and trays, and we picnicked in their lovely garden. It was a highlight of our trip. However, it's a popular place and hard to get a reservation without a lot of advance planning. Good luck.
