Advice on Paris hotels
I let the Hotel Muguet get away. Now I am in a mad search for a hotel for Thanksgiving weekend. We would like one close to a metro stop. I did a search, but want some up-to-date advice. These look good, but does anyone have first hand advice or experience?
Hotel Clement
Hotel des Grande Ecoles
Hotel Claude Bernard
Hotel Moliere
Hotel Christophe
Libertel Croix De Malte

So, you plan to obsess over a hotel selection indefinitely? There are so many hotels in Paris, most of which are proportionate in value and comfort to the rate you'll pay. It is positively unlikely that anyone has stayed more than one (or any) of these places and happens to be checking this forum today. Tour guides are much more reliable than websites (which display their very best, and perhaps specially decorated for the web "brochure" room). If you continue to mull over your possibilities, you may be left with none. Your best bet is probably to book immediately wherever you've found a favorable rate as close as possible to a metro station. Realistically speaking, all the places you've listed are well known, small, and book up quickly. You may want to make reservations forthwith, then continue shopping if you don't think you'll ever be completely satisfied.

HI...We were in Paris in July and stayed at the Hotel Francois...it was clean and right near the metro..just walk out the door! It was very centrally located and they have a nice continental breakfast. Good luck!

I vouch for Hotel St. Christophe. Stayed there in September. It's cozy, rooms are decent, staff is pleasant and it's a half-block from the Place Monge metro stop. But you really do need to go ahead and book right away. These rooms go really fast.

Can vouch as well for the Hotel Christophe and the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles. But you better book NOW!!!!!!

Hotel St. Christophe was a good choice on the 5th. The best part of it was the courteous staff, good breakfast, and good location.
