Paris Swelters - Cancule!
95 F high today in Paris - tomorrow 88 F - 80s for the week! Added to the city's notorious at times smog means some folks should take special precautions.
a French friend who was staying with me for the last month just landed in Paris - she was hoping to escape the scorching heat we in Michigan are suffering thru but voila Canicule awaited her.

88F is hardly going to kill anyone. It's as hot or hotter than that in many parts of the US. It's only a few days, when I was there last week, it was fairly cool for summer. And I was in Basel about a week ago and it was about 90 there then, which was unusual.

30C (86?) here in the Netherlands today. 33C or more tomorrow, followed, of course, by a thunderstorm.
Those walking the Nijmegen 4vier daagse (http://www.4daagse.nl/en) tomorrow could struggle.
It was very hot on our campsite, due to little shade, and we decided against a planned walk today since it was mostly through heathlands.
The smog in Paris is notorious and can really adversely affect people, so that even if the heat doesn't get to go the pollution certainly can.

Qu'encule>
?My son is not home yet but I do suspect the word 'cule' might mean rear end, especially considering the source?
But who? You?
Has it stopped raining in Belge yet. I hear stores in Belge do not stock sun screen?
(a true story - was in a Sidcup, London police station to report an attempted rape by a local on one of our bikers - the cop was on the phone taking down a report of things one Italian was calling in and when the Italian said 'sun glasses' the English cop repeated "sun glasses? what'd you bring them for?" Ah that ole British humour.)
Cheers!

It was hot Monday and Tuesday and today is supposed to be hot. Thursday highs predicted around 25°C to 28°C. Three hot days in a row is simply what I call summer. Was biking outside Paris in the countryside all day where it was about 33°C with a nice breeze. Nice and dry with no humidity and not a problem, though it was certainly less pleasant in Paris.
