Bringing this back up because I'd like input on whether or not these taxis can/will bring me to a private apartment building. There is a small dock right in front of my apartment building.
However, it is accessed via a small canal off of the Misericordia (in the Cannaregio). Can the taxis get through smaller waterways?
Anyone done this before? Would there be an additional cost to the E95?
thanks for any input!

hi, sarge56
Yes, they can get through small canals and will bring you to a private building, or as close as they can get. You landlord advise you best on how close the taxi can get to the apartment. If the taxi driver is familiar with the particular canal, he may protest its size, but you should depend upon the advice of the landlord.
When we took a water taxi to Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo, the hotel advised us that the taxi driver might protest the size of the canal, but that we should tell them that it was OK, that taxis went there all the time. As we drove into their narrow canal, the driver did indeed mention that it was narrow, but he drove to the water door--at no additional cost.
When will you be in Venice? I headed there next month.

Quick question. I was going to book the private water taxi through Venice links but we are 5 people and they charge an additional 40 euro for the 5th person, so it would be 135 euro. The hotel said they could reserve us a taxi for 130 euro. If we just pick up the taxi at the airport without reservation will they charge us the extra for the 5th person or do you think there is a chance we might get it cheaper?
