Advice needed for travelling family

Here are our issues - we'd like to travel for about 10 days in mid-September to Croatia and will be with a 1 year old baby. Had initially considered Croatia and Slovenia but think it would be better to keep it simple and travel within just Croatia. Considering renting an apartment in a couple of cities that we could use as a home base for day trips. I'd love people's thoughts on cities that would be good "home bases" and if renting a car would be best or taking the baby on trains would be better. I'd like to spare others his fussing I suppose, so would lean towards getting a car. How far is it to drive from Dubrovnik to Spilt or Zagreb? Any advice appreciated! Julie

Hi J,

If you repost with "Croatia" in the title, I think that you will get more responses.

Thanks, Ira - I thought I put it in the section just on Croatia.

even if you tagged it Croatia, all the postings show up together on the general "Europe" forum
:-)

"I thought I put it in the section just on Croatia. "

You aren't the first to be confused about this -- there isn't a "Croatia Section" (nor a France section or Italy or anywhere else). Just a "Europe" forum where all threads are lumped together. Clicking on Croatia merely lets folks search for some of the threads about it.

You may get some good info because some people will click on Croatia and find your thread - but to have a lot more "traffic" it would be better to re-post w/ a more detailed title.
