advice accommodation London
We are in London for the first time and thought best to be central. We think airbnb gives much better value than hotels. We have a short list of airbnb and would be very grateful for advice on recommended ones in the best areas. Many thanks for any feedback.

Jermyn street, spelling a bit odd, noisy and the window blinds are drawn (what are they hiding)
Cosy 1 ok, but bathroom hard to keep clean Soho 1, bathroom looks easy to keep clean Bloomsbury (what does the bed actually look like?) may be ok Soho 2, bathroom shots poor, stuff looks cheap Neal St, carpet in a bathroom! furniture looks cheap Not impressed by much, but if I had to chose Soho 1 would be mine. |
"If you want to Book one month or more £1500 per month + all bills to pay. any question please send me massage."
Had to chuckle at that. |
London has ton(ne)s of short-term rental apartments available from reputable agencies and reputable lessors (on vrbo and homeaway) that you should not limit yourself to airbnb.
The pink bomb that exploded in the bloomsbury flat would keep me away. |
some of those choices are iffy and some look 'OK' . . . but are you wedded to airbnb?

kiwinz, I have had great luck with airbnb in Spain, France, and the U.S., but in my opinion London is not a great airbnb town.
We like to use London's small B&B hotels that include breakfast and VAT, with their more homey atmosphere, and better value than what I'd found on airbnb or hostels. While it's nice having a kitchen, we do just fine without it while in London. In the recent past, we've stayed in The Celtic Hotel (formerly St. Margaret's), the Princess, and Arran House (the last not quite what it used to be, though.) I recommend check tripadvisor.com for "Hotel B&B" section, and go with their users' ratings. The Bloomsbury, St. Pancras/King's Cross areas are fine, and central. Many people like Marble Arch area. |
Many thanks for the comments, okay I will look at other booking agencies too. What is Priceline com like, do they offer the best deal

Try booking.com, paying attention to the reviews, don't book anything without a good rating and several (20+) reviews.
