Advantage Rent-A-Car OK to use in Ireland?
I have been searching everywhere for a good rental car rate for use for two days in Ireland (pick-up at Dublin airport).
The rate for Advantage Rent-A-Car is MUCH cheaper than any of the other companies (50% cheaper), which makes me worry a bit. I can't find any reviews for the company related to its services in Ireland. The reviews for users in the U.S. are hit and miss. Anyone have a good or bad experience with them? Thank you |

I assume you have also priced the rental using www.kemwel.com (Autoeurope's sister company), right?
|
Make sure you are comparing apples to apples - is Advantage giving you a price for a manual transmission car, as opposed to other agencies for an automatic? Usually automatics are twice the price.
I had good rental from AutoEurope when I was there this summer. $220 for two weeks for a manual midsized car. |
It might also include the CDW insurance, while the other quotes add it on later. If you have a credit card that covers the insurance in Ireland, you can waive it, but check with your card first.

We are only looking at manual transmission. We did find out that Advantage's rate doesn't include CDW, but it's only another 15 euro per day, which still makes it much cheaper than the others.
Unfortunately, it appears all of my credit card companies specifically exclude Ireland from coverage. |
Yup, there are only a few that still allow Ireland and Italy (if any) for their coverage. I believe some platinum MC with World MC insurance still does - but they changed many of them last September 1.
