Advance Train Ticket - Suggestions please
Hi, We were booking our return ticket from Kendal Central to Cambridge on 8th May evening at 17:20 on National Rail website. Got the good deal in advance purchase. However we observed that there is no time gap for changing the train in London Euston. From London Euston we will be going to London Kings Cross using tube and then another train from there to Cambridge. Below is the route details :-
Kendal Central -> Lancaster using First Transpennine Express
Lancaster -> London Euston using Virgin Trains
Lon Euston -> London Kings Cross using Tube
London Kings Cross -> Cambridge using First Capital Connect
Can someone please suggest how feasible it is to take the tube with no time gap in London Euston.
As this is advance purchase, do we have flexibility to take another tube from Euston to Kings Cross, in case we miss the one mentioned in the route details on the national rail website.
Appreaciate your inputs please. Thanks.

If you check www.trainline.com it gives a route via Preston and Birmingham that goes into Cambridge without touching London.
There are earlier trains at about hourly intervals through the afternoon.

Hi, Please find the timings involved for each leg. This is the route details, I have got in national rail website for the specific timing and advance purchase. I don't see an option on the national rail website to select alternate train in Euston.
17:20 Kendal Central ->Lancaster 17:47
using First Transpennine Express
18:44 Lancaster -> London Euston 21:24
using Virgin Trains
21:24 Lon Euston -> London Kings Cross 22:04
using Tube
22:15 London Kings Cross -> Cambridge 23:05
using First Capital Connect
Appreciate your guidance on this. Thanks!

You will be able to take any Tube between Euston and Kings Cross not just the one shown on the national rail website. They are very frequent.
You may even decide to walk along the Euston Rd to Kings Cross if its a nice evening (less than 10 minutes).

Thanks for suggesting. Trains thru Preston is quite expensive. We were opting for VIA London train as the advance purchase was quite cheap compare to other options. Are the advance purchase restrictions valid on London tube also?

Hi All, Highly appreciate your inputs / suggestions. We will go ahead and book our train tickets without any apprehensions..Thanks much!!!!
Can I also request guest houses, B&B suggestions around Lake district in Grasmere or Windermere or Kendal. Our budget is around 50 GBP for a double bedroom per night. Would be good to have b'fast inclusive accomodation.
Thank you!
