Advance ticket purchases in London & Paris?
 

I'm wondering if seasoned travelers to London & Paris could provide me with some advice for our upcoming vacation. We are a family of four--two grown-ups, two kids aged 12 & 16. We will be in Paris from Monday, July 23rd to Saturday, July 28th. Then we plan to chunnel it to London, staying from July 23rd to Friday, August 3rd. The basics plans are all in place (airfare, hotels, etc) but I'm now wondering if I should be making arrangements for advance purchases of tickets to museums or other attractions in either city? Are you aware of any sites, in particular, for which I should be lining-up tickets? Also, I would be interested in opinions re: the city passes which are available for both Paris & London, which provide discounts to a number of attractions. Are they worth doing?

Most of the major sights in London are free

And "chunnel" isn't used this side of the pond as it's vague, it's either Eurostar or Eurotunnel depending on what sort of service you are getting

Biy, will the folks who had to have it called the Chunnel have a time with that.

The earlier you buy your Eurostar tickets, the cheaper they will be.

You can buy tickets to the D'Orsay museum the day before and avoid the lines.

If you are museum goers, the Paris Museum Pass may work well for you. Buy it at any participating museum. Entrance for your kids will be free. Go to www.parismuseumpass.com for the details, includng a list of covered museums and monuments. Note: Independent museums that are not covered will charge admission for children as well as adults.

For London just buy individual tickets to places that charge admission (for example, the Tower of London).
