Can anyone direct me to a Monoprix close to the 5th or Blvd. St. Germaine? Thanks for your help.

Ita, I've just now gone to monoprix.fr, which one should be able to navigate without speaking French.

In the magenta bar across the top, click on "Accedez au site de votre magasin." (Find a store near you) Then, on the next page, leave the first 2 lines blank, and in "localite" put "Paris 75" (75 is the start of the "zip"-type codes). Click "Valider."

You'll get several choices. None in the 5th but one in the 6th on rue de Rennes.

There's a Monoprix right at Saint-Germain des Pres, in the same building as the Emporio Armani store - it's around the corner from the boulevard St. Germain on the rue de Rennes.

Sorry- I misread your post. Was thinking of what was near the Marais, not the 6th.

We stopprd in at the Monoprix on Rue du Rennes several times on one of our last trips--we stayed right nearby on Rue du Dragon in the 6th and found it a convenient stop for snacks, fruit, etc. The street level is general merchandise, and the lower level has a grocery store, cafe and bakery.

The closest one to the 5th is the one in St. Germain just across from the two famous cafes and the church. It's the one located on rue de Rennes that Andre and Barb describe.

The Monoprix website isn't quite as useful as it used to be. They revamped it, maybe last year, and it doesn't have as much info as before, nor as easily found. The one on rue de Rennes would probably be closest if you are near bd St Germain. There is one in the 5th, however, but it's down on the bottom of the quarter, in between the Censier metro stop and Gobelins metro stop.
