activites for children in Paris?

We will be visiting Paris for a few days in Jan with our 3-year-old girl. Are there any fun places for her in Paris? Thank you!

There are carousels at various locations. I remember one being at a playground near the steps leading in up to sacre coeur. At the playground there also was many young children playing. Luxembourg Gardens is a lovely park and I beleive they have puppet shows there (I'm sure someone else on this board can help you with info on this).

Our youngest was 4 when we took our kids to Paris. As you know, nothing entertains them for long at this age, but our son loved the Eifel tower. His favorite part was taking the stairs down the bottom third of the tower. I don't know why, but kids love stairs! He and his brother also loved the winding staircase that was outside the door of our apartment. We found out at the end of our trip that they went to the lobby every night to search through the cushions for coins! Amazing what amuses them!

check out parismuse.com--they have a guide to visiting the Louvre with children. This might also provide some other helpful links. We played a lot of "I-spy" at the museums which held their interest.

We also found some very cute pet shops which was a nice diversion.

I'm sure you're planning to take a small stroller. A must in my opinion.

Have a great time, take lots of photos and take it in at her pace.

Since it will be a lkittle cold, I ddon't know whether Les Jardins d'Accimatation would be suitable. It's a fabulous park, with many things to entertain children, but mostly open air, so..

More suitable for January is "La Cité des Enfants" in Parc de la Villette. They have planned so many activities for the little ones there, most of them indoors, so the weather won't be a concern.

My 4 and a half and 2 and a half years old grandchildren enjoyed Jardins de Luxembourg, d'Acclimatation and La Cité des Enfants a lot. They had a great time, as I'm sure your daughter will.

Have a great trip.

Try to get a copy of Fodor's PARIS WITH KIDS. It has some great information, especially for kids your daughter's age.

Good luck!
