ACRYLIC NAIL SALON
I'M LOOKING FOR A SANITARY SALON IN PARIS OR LYON THAT DOES ACRYLIC NAILS. PLEASE HELP!
Please stop yelling!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joanne,

Please let me know if you find one. I will be in Paris in early September. Have a great time.
I have no personal knowledge of the sanitation of this place, but it looks professional and does do "American" acrylic nails: www.manucurist.com I've seen lots of nail salons (look for onglerie or manucure in phone book) around Paris but do not do that kind of thing so don't know if they typically do acrylic nails or not; you might also just try the beauty salons in the major department stores.
I don't think I saw a single set of those weird, fake nails on any Parisian. I doubt they do them.

Otoh, their manicures were great, just more natural than we do them in the U.s.
Also, let me know what you find out. I am looking for the same thing.
Don't you realize acrylic nails are passe. They are no longer fashionable. I guess they will quite nicely with your shiny pink running outfit and white Reeboks. And of course the infamous fanny pack and teased hair. You should be a real hit in Paris.

Funny, I was just thinking about this today while having my manicure . Do you suppose all the salons in Paris are staffed by Vietnamese immigrants? Just wondered.
You won't find many (if any at all). Acrylic nails are a uniquely American thing. European women do not wear fake fingernails. In fact - a sure tip off that someone is from the US is if they have carylic nails.

There was another thread on this very subject and the concensus is have a NORMAL manicure before you leave and forget the acrylics.
If you mean those long, coloured, and honestly, extremely ugly things, they are a purely US phenomenon. BUT still 2 to 3 years ago also some European women used to get fake nails. But they were natural looking, not long spades. Usually taken by people who have weak, brittly nails. SO, if salons could take care of those shorter, more natural versions, they sure can take care of your weaponry, too. I would say that any salon does that.
The cheapest 'acrylic refill' I found so far is at L'onglerie for 32?.
They have several locations in Paris.
ick ick, can't you just get a normal manicure before you leave home and wait until you get back to cheese it up again?
this makes me think you girls are from south jersey.do you have really big hair also? or is it long island ny?
whatever, try a more natural look for europe, you will be glad you did.
i would hate to have people snickering at me behind my back about those fake nails.

I personally am not a fan of acrylic nails BUT my best friend who lives in the French speaking part of Switzerland and is extremely fashionable, does them herself, buys the supplies at the Uniprix.
