I will lyb. Calling them with the 9 hours difference is always a problem. And it is a problem for them calling me but we prefer it versus email. Hopefully I will be able to call 11:30pm PST Friday evening which would be 8:30am Saturday in Italy, not too early but early enough to reach the one that speaks good English before they might take off for the day. The last conversation some days ago consisted a lot of the terrible weather the north of Italy was experiencing.

love the pictures of the gondolier sitting at an outside table near the Rialto eating breakfast.... I guess I'm finding another reason why I love that city...you just gotta love these people!!!

Thank you kappa, we were thinking of changing our destination to Florence. Now we are back to our normal schedule; going to Venice on the 7th

HAD, glad you have not changed your plan. If anything else you might enjoy Venice even more due to lack of tourists (again due to last minute cancellations). Myself I have been thinking of changing my plan for Christmas before the acqua alta of this time, from already planned Marseille trip to Venice. I'm inclided for the change even more now. I spent 5 glorious sunny Christmas days in Venice in 2006.

Kappa, we are here in Venice. Arrived 7th Dec. got to our apartment which is on the 5th floor (high enough). Venice doesn't have any signs of any aqua alta. Many tourists. Weather was lovely on 8th Dec. sunny and beautiful, 9th was a bit cloudy, no rain though. We have one more day to stay so I hope tomorrow 10th will stay fine, we are leaving on the 11th. Are you coming to Venice?

HAD, I hope you were able to leave Venice safely. Did you get to see acqua alta or even snow? Snow in Venice, I have not been lucky for that yet.
