Accurate maps

I will be travelling to Europe and plan to visit some major cities. Where can I get some maps of public transport systems that are easy to use and accurate?!

Maybe from each place when you buy the tickets or pass that you will use...

If we knew 'where', we could give some online websites to help with pre-planning.

Ex.
Paris: http://www.ratp.com/

Rome: http://www.atac.roma.it/

I've had good luck with www.subwaynavigator.com. In addition to maps, it has links to the web sites of the local transportation authorities.

Cabopino,

If you have a PDA, try this link

http://nanika.net/metro/

We used it last year in Paris, Amsterdam and Rome and found it very handy. I might add, it isn't limited to those cities,
