Accomodations soon to be booked, anyone with first hand experience with these locations in Paris, Rome, Venice, and London?

My family and I have booked our apartment rentals for the four cities listed above. Anyone with first hand experience/ description about the following places/ locations?

London: Wapping
Paris: rue Faubourg Poissonniere 10th arrond.
Venice: Campo Ruga, Calle del Terco
Rome: VIA ULISSE DINI

We realize that the locations are not central in each of the cities, but the apartments were appealing, the prices were good, transportation lines close at hand, and we have a week in each location so we will have ample time to explore.

Once again, any one with direct knowledge of these areas and could share some personal insight and description would be appreciated.

Thanks

What are you paying? Someone here might know of rentals in your budget in better locations.

I know the first two quite well.

Wapping - depends where in Wapping.....

rue Faubourg Poissonniere 10th ....ahem...this is a looooong street - depends where also.

Both are not "central" in touristic terms - but both are pretty central in real terms.

On the other hand, if its your first trip to London on paris... you could do better maybe.

I'm w/ lawchick. You need to give us more info. Just "Wapping" and "rue Faubourg Poissonniere" isn't enough to tell you about the neighborhoods/convenience.

In general though - unless the rates are REALLY good, I'd try to stay closer in, especially in London.

Wapping is the area east of the Tower of London, once the heart of Docklands the the "old" East End and the poorest part of nineteenth-century London. Flash warehouse conversions and modern apartments, especially those with a river view, are among the most expensive in London nowadays. But imaginative marketing might apply the name to neighbouring areas which are much less interesting. And I don't think the transport links are that good, since you've either got to walk a fair distance to Tower Hill tube, or up to a busy main road for the 15 or 115 buses - or rely on the D100 which meanders around.
