Accomodations in Skye and Mull

Hello

Can anyone suggest accomodations for the Isle of Skye and the Isle of Mull? I'm looking for a reasonable (30-50 pounds per night for 2 people) hotel or a self-catering accomodations.

Thanks in advance for any help!

This is my favorite B&B on Mull. It is in fionnphort just up from the ferry to Iona and boats to staffa. Great breakfasts, most rooms have amazing views across to Iona/the Abbey, and a good pub/restaurant next door.

Skye has many, MANY B&Bs depends a lot on which part of the isle you want to stay.

(the days of £30 double rooms are sadly long gone. Unless you want to stay in a hostel and make your own b'fasts and help clean. But £45-£55 rooms can still be found all over.)

Last June my sister and I stayed at Shore House (www.isleofmull-uk.co.uk). The house is right by the sea and we had a beautiful view of Iona from our bedroom. Ian and Jane, the proprietors, are the loveliest people! They gave us the kindest welcome when we arrived at 9 o'clock at night in the pouring rain (even in the rain Mull is breathtakingly beautiful!). I haven't been to Skye, but would love to go someday.

I've stayed in the chaep and cheerful Harbour Guest House right on the bay in Tobermory. Nothing wrong with it.

I don't know anywhere in that price bracket on Skye, sorry

Sheila,I had a beer there last November. Well I think I did. They had a very large pub, a nice fire and great local folks.m

We stayed at the Old Mill close to Duart Castle and Torosay Castle. It's about 45 minutes from Tobermory and 45 minutes from the ferry to Iona so for us it was a pleasant and peaceful spot in the middle of the island. The room was very comfortable and the food was excellent. I think it was 37 pounds per person, but depending on how long you'll be there, they've also converted the mill into lovely self-catering accomodations.

Mull was breathtakenly beautiful - beautiful waterfalls everywhere coming down the mountains into lovely streams.

I think you're talking about the Mishnish, Roger. The Harbour doesn't have a bar.

I'm on Mull over Easter weekend. Staying at the Tobermoray Campsite and booked onto a wildlife safari for one day.... and a whale watching trip in the Friday!

Campsite seems reasonably priced.
