Accomodations for 3 people in Venice, Rome, Florence???

Hi all,

I am planning my 3rd trip to Italy but this time my husband and I will be taking my mom with us (it is her dream to go to Italy). I have been saving to take her and I think we can do it next spring. I have always stayed in 3-4 star, smaller charming B&B type hotels in Italy when there was just the two of us, but now there will be 3 of us and the cost will be more than I can afford.

I am looking for apartments/suites or reasonably priced rooms (in case we need to just get 2 rooms in some cities). We definately don't want 1 room - but we would be ok with a 1 BR unit with separate living area to have some privacy. Can anyone recommend any places they have stayed at in Rome, Florence, Venice or a small tuscan city? We are open on the itinerary and suggestions here.... The only thing is that we will be travelling around and will not want a 1 week rental. We will probably only stay in a city a few nights tops (I have been to all of these cities before and want to just show my mom the highlights so she can see more of Italy).

Thanks in advance for your help!

We were very happy renting with the following and plan to use them again. The service, locations, prices, ammenities, etc. were very satisfactory for us.

I'll be happy to answer any specific questions you might have.

try Domus International in Rome - they have one next door to the Inn at the Spanish Steps..

I didn't stay here, but at the adjacent hotel. These apartments might work for you in Rome: http://www.domusjulia.it
