Accomodation near athens airport
 

Hello

I'm looking for inexpensive accomodation (hostel, hotel...) near athens airport. So far I could only find two 5* hotels which are way to expensive.

Unfortunately, that's all there is. If you want something less expensive you'll have to go into Athens.

Hostels are only in Athens. I would either stay in a 5 star hotel near the airport, or in a cheap hotel in the city centre and take a taxi to go to the airport.

We stayed in the Hotel Sofitel at the Athens airport 3 weeks ago. It is literally at the airport- you walk across the street. I called several times till I got a rate I could live with- I think we got a government rate of 170 euros, breakfast included. It was really convenient for an early morning flight. It is a nice hotel- all very Danish modern type. Which was quite an incongruity- we stayed in old world Grande Bretagne the night before.

We stayed at the Sofitel, which was pricey, but very worth it for us. As we walked from the airport across the street to the Sofitel I asked my husband - where the heck are all the other airport hotels? Doesn't seem as if there are any. Good luck. You can probably stay in Athens and pay for a cab to the airport for cheaper than staying at the Sofitel.
