Accomodation in Annecy

I forgot to post my previous message under France. We are looking for a good hotel or B&B in Annecy for one night in October for about $150. Any suggestions?

Not fancy, but fabulous location, close to the river/lakefront, pedestrian precinct, plus its own self-parking - a valuable thing in central Annecy... of all places, the Ibis. www.accorhotels.com. Probably around €70 or less. Great breakfast buffet for €5 or 6.

It's been several years, but we stayed at the Hotel de Palais de l'Isle. It should be in your price range and has a great location. The rooms are furnished in a modern fashion and are comfortable. Our favorite thing in Annecy was renting a small boat and taking it out on the lake.

Hi Ita,

You can read about the Hotel de Palais de l'Isle in our Annecy travelogue:

Was at the Palais de l'Isle a couple of weeks ago, and also about a year prior to that. Great place, good price, fantastic location.

Also stayed at eh hotel de Palais de I'Isle and found the staff efficient. It is right in the center of the old town and a short walk to the lake. Loved this little town!

Yes, the Hotel de Palais de l'Isle is a winner. We stayed there for 4 nights last June and loved it. They were extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations, etc. We also rented a boat (I almost drowned trying to disable the engine's governor!) and it was great fun.

Annecy is a great little town, should be fantastic in October. Beware the ice cream vendor across from the hotel. It is VERY addictive! :)

I was with Burta and while I don't remember the staff much, I do remember the room and I loved it--very bright and modern. We enjoyed a nice fondue dinner nearby, although you could opt for raclette. Love this place!

Hello. Has anyone heard of or stayed at a b&b named "Les Maquisats"?
