1. Where do you recommend a family of four stay in Kilkenny?

2. Has anyone stayed at either of these places: Dunbrody House Hotel or Marfield House? Let me know what you thought.

3. Has anyone stayed at Park Hotel Kenmare? What did you think?

Any other recommendations for nice places to stay in these locations would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Park Hotel in Kenmare is quite expensive but the loveliest hotel I have ever stayed at - anywhere.

We used the Kenmare Bay Hotel last fall and it was just fine. Very good location, good rooms and good pub. It is less expensive than Park Hotel. The web site is

My brother and (now) sister-in-law wanted a destination wedding and chose the Park Hotel as their base. The Brennans (owners) helped plan the whole thing, including the ceremony itself in the church. The reception was held in the hotel, and was fabulous. Since then, we've gone back to the Park several times -- and had a GREAT time. The food is fantastic and after 24 hours, you feel like you live there... Everyone is just so friendly.

L just found this thread and hope my posting is not too late to help. We have stayed the Park Hotel in Kenmare and Marfield House. Loved both. Great food and accomodations in both as well as personal attention from the owners. Both are gorgeously run properties and I would stay at both again!
