Accommodations in Callandar, Scotland

Looking for recommendations for a place to stay in Callandar. Ideally, we would like to be in town or walking distance. We will have a car and plan to explore the Lochs for a couple of days but only have 2 nights before heading back to Edinburgh to fly home.

The two best accommodations in the area, the Roman Camp Hotel in Callander and the Lake Hotel on the Lake of Menteith will both be a bit above your budget but are both really terrific.

For B&B' Ben A'an House and Riverside House are both very good.

We stayed at Abbotsford Lodge for a night last year and enjoyed it. We had a ground floor double and it was very nice. It's located within walking distance of the central part of town.

The most beautiful grounds we've ever stayed in all our trips was Roman Camp in Callander. Five minute walk into town. 20 acres of gardens. Rooms are a little worn, but who cares. They're about half your budget. See llnk below...scroll down about 2/3 of the way for descriptions and photos.

Really? The only time I've stayed there the rates were higher -- closer to £200 than $100. But if they in the OP's budget . . . book it. That is a deal!

Our rooms were 95 Euros apiece...we got a deal on Booking.com. They were small and a little worn, but quiet and comfortable. And as stated...an incredibly beautiful property with a very short walk into town. Say hi to my peacock friend.

Thank you for the information. I just called and unfortunately a wedding party has blocked all the rooms so I will need to call back 3 months prior to see if they have been released. Any other recommendations, please.

We have stayed here twice. Excellent location just off the main street and only a few steps to the river. I wouldn't call it spectacular but it was very nice.

A few years ago, we stayed here:

I don't remember what we paid. Anyway, their rates depend on the number of nights. Only 3 rooms, so book early. Lovely hosts.

Have you checked any of the several others already suggested?
