Accommodations in Barcelona

Have received wonderful advice on this website. Still having trouble finding accommodations in Barcelona for November 15 - November 19.

I am sorry but you received some recommendations for accommodations in Barcelona on your other thread.

What sort of "trouble" are you having?

Didn't like what was suggested? No availability? Too expensive?

I don;t mind helping out but you need to be a bit more forthcoming IMO.

I use www.booking.com a lot. In Barcelona, what about the Hesperia chain. We stayed with them before and will again in April.

Use booking.com or similar secure website to book. You will get immediate response. It sounds like you are emailing places which is not the best way to book.

I see someone suggested Hotel Jazz in Barcelona on your other thread. I stayed there and really liked it a lot also. Did you try them or not? Because they are popular and might be booked, but I had no trouble getting a response from them very quickly. YOu can book right on their website. They say they have vacancies on your dates for only around 100 euro (which is good for them, must be the month) when you try the booking function so I'm not sure what the problem could be, unless you don't like them and didn't try them.

I have booked hotels around Europe either through booking. com
or Expedia.

Never had a problem.

Thank you everyone! We have booked the Monte Carlo in Barcelona for 896 Euros for the 4 nights. Is this a good choice?????
(I remember checking out Hotel Jazz, but can't remember why I didn't select it...maybe because the Monte Carlo has a balcony?)
I may be going overboard on all my research....but so excited about our trip!

Now I remember.... I did look up Hotel Jazz based on the recommendations and it really sounded nice! I did a Google search for Hotel Jazz reviews and ended up on Tripadvisor. It had great reviews, but then read some reviews on the Monte Carlo on that same website. Decided upon the Monte Carlo primarily because of the the balcony and jacuzzi tub (and photos). I understand it can be noisy because of its location, but hopefully we can get a room on the upper level.
Hope I made a good choice?
Just want everyone to know I do appreciate all of the suggestions on this forum! It has helped tremendously!

OK, so tell us why you didn't like it. I love the place but obviously your experience varied from mine so how about some MORE feedback...never hurts to discuss.

We have stayed at the Costanzo while in Barcelona. First room we had a terrace on ground floor. Very nice. And second time we had a small balcony. It was very clean, friendly, just off of Catalyna plaza. A boutique hotel, as they are called?

yeah, I would be interested in details as to why you didn't like it, that is what would be useful to others.

oh that is funny. I was just going to post we liked the Monte Carlo! not the area.. which is Las ramblas, we only stayed there one night but I thought it was perfect and lovely for us, great front desk help. Contemporary rooms, nice architecture. right across from the market which was perfect for breakfast.

Have already booked 5 nights at Hotel Montecarlo for April/2014. Therefore would appreciate the OP to provide more details as to why he/she did not like the hotel?

Reading 54,

Hotel Montecarlo gets fabulous guest reviews, so I wouldn't be too worried: http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/montecarlo.html

Oops, Sorry so long in looking at this!
We reserved a room with a "small balcony" overlooking the main street! A waste because the large lights on the balcony totally overwhelmed the whole thing!
But the MAIN problem we had was the fact that our room was small, had no storage, AND the housekeeper opened the drapes and turned the A/C off every day while we were out! Could not breathe when we returned to the room!
(We later talked with a couple who stayed across the street in a hotel, and they loved it! Plus it had a nice bar and restaurant at about the same price we paid!)
We DID have a wonderful guide/taxi driver/friend!!!! while in Barcelona tho, and he MADE our trip! Wonderful city/area! Would love to return!
