Accommodation recommendations near Shannon

Looking for some place memorable (maybe a manor house?) to spend our last night within a half hours drive to the airport. There was a wonderful looking place a bit further away called Clifden House but I understand the owners have retired. Anyone have a special place they can recommend? Thanks!

Keep us posted. Delta just offered a $316 roundtrip to Shannon from NYC this summer...so I just bought four tickets.

Why not go for Dromoland Castle.
That's where President Bush stayed on his visit here and sure if it good enough for him it might do you as well.
You only live once and anyway its only money.(www.dromoland.ie)Check it out.
Emjoy your trip agus go n-eiri on boher libh.Slan agus beannacht o Eire.

Sorry its me again.
If you would like to see the hotels around Shannon Airport go to
www.travelireland.org/clare/hotels.htm
if you look on the left of the page you will see the list of hotels. Each one listed is a good hotel.
Enjoy.

Hi and thanks for your responses. Wow, that is a great price - we paid twice that just to get to London so good for you! CU, I had to laugh when I saw Dromoland. I had actually checked it out before I started this thread which lead me to post hoping to find a more affordable alternative. It is spectacular in every way and truly fit for a king, or president for that matter. We are but lowly paupers. Thanks for the suggestion though but I found a place that gets great reviews on TA and is just what we were looking for. Just outside of Shannon and not far from Bunratty in Newmarket on Fergus. For anyone interested - http://www.carrygerryhouse.com/.
