Accommodation in Orvieto
I have decided to stay a night in Orvieto. What hotel would people recommend?
|
Here is a link to a B&B that was highly recommended and confirmed by someone else on this board. We have booked one night here. They are asking 115 Euro for a double, with breakfast. We're even planning to have dinner here.
Will you have a car or are you arriving by train. This place is on the outskirts -- maybe a short taxi ride. www.locandarosati.orvieto.tr.it ((b)) |
Another option is the hotel piccolomini, located in the old, medieval part of town - I just got back and really liked the location (central, but quiet). Also the hotel is a very sympathetic modern conversion of an old Palace - but don't expect chandeliers and painted ceilings -the hotel is definately classic modern, if that makes any sense. A very reasonably priced 4 star.

We spent a night in a family suite at the Hotel Palazzo Piccolomini back in '01 and thought it was a lovely hotel. Compared to the what we paid for family accommodations in the bigger cities (and we stayed in 2&3*) this hotel was great value and the only 4* we stayed in.

Stayed at the Hotel Duomo last spring, it was nice and the location is great (right next to the Duomo, oddly enough). It is a bit of an uphill walk from the top of the funicular tot he hotel with your bags - it is worth it to pay for the bus.
