Accommodation in Athens
Can anyone suggest reasonable, plain accommodation in Athens?
|
Attalos Hotel, with a great location convenient to everything. http://www.attaloshotel.com/

We stay at the Astor in early July, it was the most reasonably priced hotel that had availability, clean but plain. Nice roof top terrace overlooking the Acropolis. Breakfast was fine. Walking distance to everything. http://www.astorhotel.gr/

Thank you guys.

We just returned from Greece and stayed at the Metropolis Hotel for several nights. We paid 100 euro for four people. It was well-located and was run by very helpful and friendly people.

Jago, please tell us what the Metropolis was like?
I dropped in, in May (staying then at the Attalos) to see rooms, but they were all booked - it was the football championship - so I couldn't get a glimpse of a room. Clean? Tiny or good size? Balcony? Is Metropolis street quiet? (anything has to be quieter than Athinas, where the Attalos is located) Thank you! |
We had the windows closed because of the air-conditioning and the room was quiet. I don't know how it would be with the windows open.
Our quad (two double beds) was a good size and I'd say the room was reasonably clean (though not perfectly clean). It did have a balcony, but we didn't use it. It was small and closed in with plants. I don't know how to compare it to the Attalos other than by price. The Attalos was significantly more money for four people. The room was fine for us, but a little dated. Really, the three things tht would make us go back were the price, the most incredible view of the Acropolis, and the service we got from the people who run it. (Note: They don't accept credit cards.) |
Stayed in Hotel Alma 3 years ago.
Good location, but nothing fancy. |
