Accommodation for 6 in Venice
A group of us (3 couples) will celebrate our 35th wedding anniversaries next year and would like to visit Venice. We thought it would be good to share an apartment rather than stay in the usual hotel rooms. Can anyone recommend suitable apartment accommodation?

Your best source of information is probably www.slowtrav.com.
Go to Italy, then Rental Reviews, then Venice. Also have a look at SlowTrav Favorites, which include some individual places as well as agencies. Some agencies are active in various parts of Italy; others specialize in Rome. One place that occurs to me as a possibility is the Palazetto da Schio, which has four individual apartments that would give each couple privacy. http://www.palazzettodaschio.it/ |
Soory: that should, of course, be "specialize in Venice.

Contact Denise, an American who runs an apartment rental company in Venice, and has a very good selection of apartment rentals for all price ranges. She will provide an escort to meet you, provide a cell phone for use while in Venice, and even stock your refrigerator with groceries before your arrival, if you want. The only downside is that she requires payment in cash. You can contact her by email at her website:

Pensione La Calcina also has apartments besides the hotel.

We stayed here http://www.palazzettodaschio.it/ in the top apartment overlooking the canal. I loved Venice and loved staying in Dorsodoro. This apt. is near the Guggenheim on a canal. About a zig-zag block from vaporetto stop Salute.
Make sure you can go "home" somewhere quiet and less congested and you will like Venice. |
