Accommodation

Has anyone stayed at Romantik Jugendstilhotel Bellevue at Traben-Trarbach?

Might "we" conclude that this was a (totally forgiveable) mental lapse, when you typed this message header, for this very specific question? (we all have them from time to time!)

I see that you are not entirely all that new here - - how did I know that? click on your own name (this is one of the numerous useful tips that Fodors fails to tell you when they send you that first e-mail confirming your registration) - - and chances are you have seen the suggestion to read the "HELP" (little tiny red letters in the upper lefthand corner) - - another oversight that Fodors fails to recommend to you to do.

Anyhow, you owe it to yourself to take a look there: http://www.fodors.com/forums/faqs.cfm - - especially http://www.fodors.com/forums/faqs.cfm#Q6 - - which I have listed below, in excerpt form, for you (my own emphasis added):

=========================

Finally, create a title - make sure it is concise and clearly describes your message (<b>and destination</b>, if applicable) -- and write your message in the space provided

==========================

Thus, when you re-post - - and you really <b>should</b> do that - - be sure and mention <b>Romantik Jugendstilhotel Bellevue at Traben-Trarbach</b> in your message header.

Best wishes,

Rex

Sorry Rex I don't quite understand what I did wrong. Are you saying I should have used a different heading - not accommodation?

P_M Jul 19th, 2005 10:31 AM

It's always best to use a specific title, that way you will catch the eye of anyone who has that info. Rex is a very nice person and this is how he has helped many posters find what they need. Good luck.

Since people don't often open every single message posted, you will always get more responses if you put in specific information in your heading. That way when people are scanning the titles, they will know immediately whether they have something to contribute.

Correct.

Repeating...

================================

Finally, create a title - make sure it is concise and clearly describes your message (<b>and destination</b>, if applicable)...

===============================

You need to tell people that you are asking a hotel <b>in Germany</b> - - and moreover, it's just good common sense... and good manners... to be more specific, right in the header...

I would go even farther than Rex on this one. Just having the country in the title isn't enough since the question is asking about a specific hotel in a very specific place.

hulladaza: what would you think of a thread just titled &quot;accomodation&quot; ? It does not tell you ANYTHING of what the thread is about - country, city, hotel, prices, flats/apartments, hostels, canal boats, ferry cabins or??????

as a matter of fact - the entire text of the original post would be 10000% better than &quot;accomodation&quot;
