accomadations in dublin and meath
planning to stay in dublin 3 nights in october...years ago we stayed at the royal dublin, i haven't seen any postings about it...has anyone stayed there recently?
also, will go on to meath, any suggestions of b/bs or hotels? thanks. |
You can do better than the royal dublin for price and quality. Where in meath will you be staying? Its too big a generalisation to say meath. Is there something specific you want to see etc? This will give us a better idea/

had already made the reservations at royal dublin...will let you know the results of our stay.
in Meath, we want to visit newgrange, knowth, and trim castle...so perhaps Slane would be a good place to stay...do you have any b and b's to recommend? thanks |
To be honest you could stay in Dublin and take the day bus tour of newgrane etc. Slane is not the most happening place to stay in to be honest. If you can cancel without payment I would check out other options than the royal Dunblin. Its so so late at night and will be a bit loud. I think for their price ramnge of the hotel you can get a nicer place.

I would agree with Siobhan - I wouldn't choose the Royal Dublin, you can do better for the same price (or probably less).

Where would suggest, rather than the Royal Dublin?

As I live in Dublin, I haven't stayed in any of the hotels in the city, so can really only go by what I've heard and location. I think Brownes on Stephens Green looks fantastic, and the location is excellent. www.brownesdublin.com
If you can get a good rate at the Merrion, I would go for that - probably the best hotel in the city. Otherwise you could try the Fitzwilliam - also beautiful. Those two might be pricier than the Royal Dublin though. Another one you could try is the Westin. You might get a good rate with one of those. |
