Accessible Winery from Rome or Florence
My boyfriend and I will be in Rome and Florence in early september. We would like to go to a winery, however, we are on a budget and cannot really afford to rent a car (and we would rather not hire a driver). Does anyone have suggestions for a nice/good winery we could visit that is easily accessible from one of these cities. Thanks everyone

I apologize for not actually answering your question - - but I am curious if your intrest lies in tasting (and presumably, purchasing perhaps) some locally produced wines - - and typically at prices well under what you can pay in the US...
...or are you actually intereted in viticulture and winemaking? For the latter, a visit to a winery is clearly what you seek... ...but for the former, you should consider an hour (or several) in a good enoteca. Search "enoteca" here on this forum, and you will get lots of ideas for both cities. I have raved about Bucone (on via di Ripeta near Piazza del Popolo, in Rome) more than once. Best wishes, Rex |
topping... can't tell if you have discovered yet how to locate any of your previous posts (you haven't acknowledged any of them yet)... click on your own name...

Zoe - CAF and Sita do coach tours to a winery in the Chianti area from Florence if you're interested in that option:
