Accademia to see David
Will be going to Florence for the day from Pienza by train. Will be buying tickets on-line to Accademia. Two questions, is one day of the week better than another....was thinking of going on a Friday....and, is there a time that's better to go, such as first thing in the morning?

We arrived for our tour at 11:45 am - there was a very short line for the reservations (the other line was around the building) - we were let right in.
Upon leaving about an hour later - the reservation line was also very long. Not sure if this is consistent but it seemed to get busier later in the day. |
I bought my advance tickets from www.florenceart.it You pick the day and approximate time and they email you back and confirm. You pay by credit card and then they email you a voucher which you print and take with you. Then you don't have to stand in any line, just enter at the given time and they scan your voucher. We felt it was worth it.

No need to pre-purchase tickets. Just call the # (don't have it handy - just search this forum). Everyone with a reservation (voucher, or simply a reservation #) waits at the entrance until they call your entry time.
Those without a reservation wait in a long line that snakes around the corner. |
There is no train from Pienza !
Best time to go is after 1600 when you can just walk in. |
| All times are GMT -8. The time now is 03:05 AM. |
