My husband wants to see an AC Milan game sometime this season. (We can plan our trip to Italy at any time during the season.) I'd like to give him the tickets for his birthday gift. Is there a way to purchase the tickets on-line for delivery in the U.S? The AC Milan website seems to direct me to outlets within Europe, but I do not see many on-line options with U.S. delivery. (If possible, I would like to avoid brokers with huge mark-ups; I don't mind paying a service charge, but I don't want to pay 3 times the price of the ticket just for the sake of convenience.)

Here's another website, but it mentions tickets may not be delivered to your hotel until just before the game. I think that would make be nervous.

Thank you for the reply. I did google, and found a number of websites similar to footballtickets.com where the prices for the tickets were far more than European counterparts. I will try ticketliquidator.com.

I've had football tickets delivered to hotels in Spain and Italy before - there was never a problem. (I think its rather standard with the local brokers.)

I should also say that if it doesn't work out that you can get tickets to a match, the museum and stadium tour at San Siro is really interesting - you have access to both the AC Milan and InterMilan locker rooms.

The stadium is easy to get to on the trams (just make sure you buy your ticket in advance).

I have used Euroteam, at www.euroteam.info, to get tickets to a game in London. It was very, very expensive, well over twice the face value- all of the ticket brokers are- but it was easy (bought online with Visa, broker delivered the ticket to my hotel and called me to confirm delivery the day I arrived), and the seats were absolute nosebleed territory, literally three rows from the top of the stadium. But you do such things for the experience, and it was great, if a little scary at times. I will elaborate, because it's a funny story.

The stadium I went to (Emirates, home of Arsenal) uses a card-scan system for ticket entry, ie a season ticket holder has a card that is "loaded" with the ticket for a game he is attending. So, I received a card at the hotel, with the name of a man, presumably the season ticket holder, on the card. Getting a little nervous now. I'm sure he has arranged with this company to broker his ticket for a huge profit to unsuspecting stupid Americans. Anyway, the ticket was completely legit, I arrived, scanned it, the turnstile opened, all good. I took my seat, and a gentleman sat down next to me at kickoff, and said hello. I believe he was the "runner" designated to collect these brokered tickets throughout the stadium, because he asked me to give him the ticket card at halftime. Just before halftime, he left his seat for 30 minutes and returned, collecting my card. The next day, at the airport going home, I received a call from Euroteam asking for the ticket back! Uh oh. But I told them I had given it to the gentleman at the stadium, and they knew what I was talking about, so no harm done.

Anyway, it was a bit bizarre, but a lot of fun. If your husband really wants to go, I say do it. This company is above board, just know what you are getting (and getting into). It's a cultural experience!

Thank you for all the suggestions! It seems that I can get reasonably priced tickets if I have them delivered to my hotel in Italy. I am just reluctant to go that route unless absolutely necessary (I imagine flying all the way to Milan and ending up with no tickets!) I am glad to see, however, suggestions for companies that seem to be reputable... Oh, the things we do for love!

I used www.SohoTickets.com after recommendation from a fellow traveler in Europe and I must admit I had a very good service. The tickets were sent 1 week before the game and therefore I didnt have to worry about it when I was there.
Definitely recommended.

The choice of match may make a difference.

AC Milan v Juventus would be difficult, whereas AC MIlan vs Lecce would probably be easy, as there is not likely to be the demand.

I have never bought tickets for Milan, but my limited experience of buying tickets for Italian football matches is that they are easy to get the day before all but the "big games"
