A/C 1st week of September?

Hello - visiting Provence (St. Remy, Gordes areas) 1st week of Sept. What might I expect the weather to be like, and will I need A/C in my hotel for the evenings? Thanks!

Depends on whether you want your hotel to be less than 28-30 degrees, before 7 pm. I always travel with a small portable fan, and never go to bed before 10 or 11 pm, so "for the evening", I would say no - - A/C is not "required".

But a nap in the afternoon might be a different story.

See www.worldclimate.com or www.weatherbase.com for more objective historical data.

Best wishes,

Rex

It rather depends on where you are staying--house with stone walls? House shaded by large trees? No shade?

We stayed there in an upstairs room, and it was quite warm. The house is well shaded, however, and if you're out most of the day the heat shouldn't be much of a problem. If it is, there's always the pool.

Unless there's a bad heat wave. With the crazy weather these past few summers there's just no way to predict the temperatures.
