About Les Halles

I understand Les Halles is a huge (underground?) market very close to my apartment rental in Paris. What kinds of things are sold there? Can anyone here give me a good description?

It is like one of the most mediocre malls in the US you've ever been to.

You can probably navigate thru this site:

The mall is going to be torn down and rebuilt starting in 2009. Goodbye 1970's.

Actually, it is very good for clothes, if you are under age 25.

It has the most convenient FNAC for my needs. That would be a good place to get additional maps and guidebooks if you need any, because it has the largest travel section that I have ever seen in any bookstore in the world.

Also, the 18 screen multiplex starts its movies at 9am, which is a detail that some of us appreciate.

Is Les Halles open on Sunday, particularly Easter Sunday?

kerouac Dec 23rd, 2007 03:16 AM

Absolutely not. For the moment, like most other large stores in Paris, the stores of the Forum may be open only 8 Sundays a year -- generally the Sundays in December, plus some Sundays during major sale periods.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 03:11 AM.
