Able to walk to village at Malpensa?
I want to book a reasonable hotel at Milan Milpensa airport. I am looking at the Jet, First and Cervo hotels respectively. Is it possible from these hotels to walk to the village for dinner?
Thanks

Juicy: we are going to stay at the First Hotel before our very early flight to Paris. It looks quite nice, and it is reasonable IMO. I am curious to see if it is within walking distance to a town.

Stay at the Villa Malpensa in Vissola Ticino. If you do a search you will see lots of posts extolling the virtues of this hotel. it is 5 munutes from the airport, but you have the sense that you are in the countryside. The village is very small, but it has a wonderful restuarant, Il Maniero. You'll probably eat at the hotel, though, because it, too has a fabulous restaurant. Even karen Brown recommends it!
Thanks for responding. I don't think it's worth it for me to stay there. It's $200 a night and I am checking out at 4:30am. Are the other hotels close to Villa Malpensa?

The Hotel Cervo has a pickup service for 3 Euros each way. A taxi is about 10-15 Euros. Walking could be a challenge with suitcases.

I was really wanting to do if it would be possible to check-in around 5pm and then walk to a restaurant for dinner. I read in a previous post (but I can't find it) that there is a village that you can stroll around in the evening as opposed to just staying in the room. I didn't mean I was going to walk to the airport. Anyone know?

I stayed at the Hotel Cervo a few years ago and took a walk to find anything of interest. Sorry, no restaurants, views, etc. Just a little suburban neighborhood with small houses and gardens. It IS very close to the airport. The hotel itself has a little restaurant and bar and the food was fine.

I think you are remembering posts about the Villa Malpensa, to walk around in a village etc. And yes, it's pricey compared to the others but sounds like it's worth it if that last night of wandering is important. Our flight is later in the morning so we are staying in Milan and training out in the a.m.

I also stayed at Hotel Cervo. We drove a short distance for dinner at a pizza place. I don't recall any restaurants within walking distance. If I recall, the Hotel serves dinner on some nights - you might want to check that too.
