AA Vacations to Paris
Has anyone taken the AA Vacations package to Paris. We will be going for the last week of Aug. Any suggestions or advice on obtaining paperwork on Orley to Paris, tour tickets, etc. We will be staying at the Lutecia.
I don't know what they're like now, but my first trip to France was an AA package to Paris in Feb. '90 and it was a huge bargain. For something like $450 we got airfare, a nice hotel room for 6 nights, plus some odd extras -- an AA flight bag, bus tour of Paris, etc. I hope you have as much fun as we did.

I mean getting vouchers for transportation to and from the airport.
Also, when does one pick up tickets for included tours, etc.
We had a great time on our AA package about 18 months ago, which included airfare and hotel and one free dinner. We didn't take the transfers, which as I recall were $60 a person, and we were able to get a cab each way for less than half that. All your documents should come with the plane tickets.

Hi Enri: We took an AA Package to Paris in the Fall of '97 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed at the Hotel du Lourve in the 1st arr. which was exceptional The package included the shuttle to and from CDG.They were on time and convenient Also included all breakfasts and a dinner. The only "wrinkle" was that we arrived at our hotel at about 10 AM and our room was not ready until after 12. Be alerted to this problem at any hotel you may choose. Overall we felt it was a good deal and would do it again. Enjoy your stay in Paris....Paul J
Our trip to Paris was part of an American Airlines "Europe on Your Own" package. When we arrived at the Lutetia, they could not find our reservation and asked if we had called to confirm--we hadn't, but no one had told us we had to. But since we had our American Airlines vouchers, everything was okay and we got our two rooms side by side. I still don't know if we actually had no reservation or if they just told us that so we would be happy with two adjacent rather than two adjoining rooms as requested. Transfer to the airport at the end of our trip was included. The company called the evening before and arranged with my husband to pick us up the following morning at 11 a.m. When they had not arrived by 11:20, the concierge called the company. They claimed that we had cancelled the pick-up--I don't know if they just said this because they were late or what--we certainly didn't cancel the pick up and it wasn't a misunderstanding in confirming the reservation. I read in Polly Platt's highly recommended book "French or Foe" that the French will tell you something can't be done (or maybe your reservation is cancelled?) so that when they come through you will forget any inconvenience and be grateful! We did not take any of their tours.
