A weekend in Amsterdam

I'm writing up my most recent trip to Amsterdam in a series of blogposts (two more to go as I post this). It seems a bit of a cheat to describe it as a trip report, since it was a home exchange and I'm no great foodie, so as a guide to accommodation and eating out it's not much use. For what it's worth, though, I stayed on Weesperzijde, along the Amstel, near the Wibautstraat metro station, so outside the usual tourist areas - and it was no trouble at all to get anywhere I wanted to, or indeed one late night to walk all the way back.

Anyway, perhaps some of my impressions and photos will give people some ideas:

Thanks for the link Patrick. My son used to live out just off the Wibautstraat.

Thanks Patrick! I am just sending the link to your electric car photo to my sister-in-law. She works for an energy provider and is being given the opportunity to test an electric car for several months in an early trial. I think she and her workplace will appreciate this, and if they are looking for models, Amsterdam seems to provide a good one. So thanks again!
