A week in Tuscany - help with hotel and attractions
My friend and I are going to Florence arriving on 11/18 - we have reservations at the Hotel Pedini for 2 nights. We would like to take a 1 day cooking class while we are there. On 11/20, we are going to a cooking course at TastyTuscany for 6 nights. This time includes olive picking, going to the market, olive oil making, a day in FLorence, and 3 cooking classes. The itinerary seems perfect for us - relaxing and infusing us with the life style of the area.
We will have one night in Florence at the end of our stay. What hotel would you recommend for 1 night. We do not want to be far from the city center. |

Pitti Palace from 60 euro well located for us last may great rooftop cafe/views close to Ponte Vecchio We go a fair amount lots of good places Grand Minerva or Bernini Palace also good in past. Our only negative Machiavelli Palace avoid a dodgy dumpola staff sort of unfriendly dishonest... The morning manager told me I did not have to pay for internet when I checked out then as I left the day manager had the bellhop bring me back as I was headed toward the train and made me pay 12 euros Pretty wierd will not return there...almost missed my train Have fun! |
qwovadis, are you sure that wasn't the mandatory 2 euros per person per day tax that must be paid in cash? The Machiavelli's website does not indicate that internet access is free anywhere in the hotel.

aspir4more, would you not be interested in staying at the Pendini for your last night?

If you'd rather be closer to the train station, try the Hotel Aprile. There is frequent bus service from the train station to the Florence airport.
